The Tosher is a Cornish Working Boat originally developed to work the inshore fishing grounds of Cornwall. They make excellent dayboats and are suitable for someone looking for the first Vintage/Classic Boat. Toshers also have a good turn of speed, ideal to go Gaffer/Working boat racing. Mary is no exception, built in 1896 by Frazers of Mevagissey she underwent a few seasons ago a major refit in Penryn which included: new floors, replacement of Apron & Stern, seventeen new frames, a new deck, a new ballast keel, new keel bolts, two planks were replaced and new rubbing strakes were fitted. Surveyed in 2010.

Joy Fox was owned by the Ryder family for many years and under their ownership was the subject of a comprehensive refit in late the eighties before cruising the Med, Carribean and American coast. She was repatriated to the UK and in 1997 was refitted again benefitting from new teak decks and hull repairs.
In current ownership for the last three seasons she has been wintered ashore under cover at Falmouth Boat Construction Ltd and undergone consistent improvements and is offered today in immaculate condition. She currently resides ashore at Falmouth Boat Construction Ltd, Flushing, Falmouth, Cornwall.
The exterior has been brought to a very high standard with the hull "sprayed" and exceptional varnishing to create a stunning finish on what is a pretty yacht. The interior has benefitted from a new galley, new heads, repainted and revarnished throughout. More than £50,000 has been spent in the last three winters. The owner is looking for a larger vessel. Surveyed in January 2008. |
